Beating under cover of the woods: Animals in Contemporary Art

28 January - 4 March 2023

How many hearts with warm, red blood in them are beating under cover of the woods, and how many teeth and eyes are shining? A multitude of animal people, intimately related to us, but of whose lives we know almost nothing, are as busy about their own affairs as we are about ours.

--John Muir

The title of the exhibition comes from John Muir's quote above. The works feature imagery related to animals in the wild. Each of the artists approaches the subject in their own way, but each with a reverence for these creatures with whom we share our planet.
